Aviat CTR8611 Workshop using 8611 using CLI

Microwave radio IP/MPLS networking

This workshop provides knowledge and skills needed to configure, provision, and manage 8611 Series
using the Command Line Interface (CLI).

After a brief introduction to 8611 routers, technologies and hardware functionality, students will learn how to
configure an IP/MPLS network using 8611 network elements and how to provision L2 and L3 VPNs using
CLI. Introduction to troubleshooting commands such as connectivity testing, performance management and
fault management are included to this workshop as well.

This course includes hands-on activities using the Aviat training lab equipment.
This course is conducted at Aviat Training locations or can be arranged at customer sites if suitable services
are available. The lab Activities are 40 percent hands-on; 2:1 student-to-equipment ratio

  • Upon successfully completing this course, participants will be able to:
    • Describe 8611 Series system architecture and routers
    • Describe MPLS basics, and MPLS network building methodology
    • Explain the mobile backhauling applications of the 8611 routers
    • Explain network element protections in 8611 routers
    • Build the IP/MPLS network by configuring network elements, interfaces, links, routing processes, label
    switching and synchronization
    • Create, configure and test L2 VPNs (Pseudo Wires) and IP VPNs
    • Monitor and manage faults
    • Use 8611 network element protection methods
  • Participants must have completed
o Have a theoretical knowledge about TCP/IP and MPLS
o Understand the basic functions and applications of routers and switches
